Jenolan Caves Adventure For Two - NSW
'Depart Katoomba at 8.30am, and start with an easy 2 hour guided walk. See beautiful Mountain parrots, listen to the enchanting sounds of the Australian bush. Learn the history of the Blue Mountains and the Aboriginal people. With your specialist bush guide, study the geology, plants and animals; find bush tucker; smell Eucalyptus oil and Tea Tree oil. A luxury air-conditioned coach will pick you up at the end of the walk for a journey through the Blue Mountains to Jenolan Caves. Stop at Govett's Leap to see Bridal Veil Falls ?our largest single waterfall. Sightseeing on the way includes the Hartley Valley with views across to the western scarp of the Blue Mountains; the pine plantations; and the spectacular entry to the cave system is one that you will remember for a long time as you drive through the Grand Arch. At Jenolan Caves, you will have time to enjoy some walks around the outside of the caves. For the energetic, a 45 min round trip will take you up to Carlotta's Arch - this walk has great panoramic views and many geological features are found along the track. View the mysterious Blue Lake before returning via the Devil's Coachhouse. A shorter and easier walk is around the Blue Lake, past the dam and across the creek ?a very pleasant stroll. A highlight of the day is entry into one of the limestone caves. These tours are fully guided and you have the choice of an easy one hour inspection of the Imperial Cave, or a moderate 1.5 hour inspection of the Lucas Cave. The imperial cave follows an ancient river passage with several smooth tunnel-like sections which are very well decorated. The Lucas Cave has the largest and highest of the chambers and shows a large variety of limestone formations. On returning back to Katoomba, sit back and relax whilst viewing the magnificent Blue Mountains at the Edge Cinema. Fly through mist-filled valleys, climb towering cliffs, swim subterranean rivers and discover living fossils on the six story high screen' Holiday ReviewsIf you have had this experiece before or something similar please share it with us.
