Kayaking For A Day - Qld
'Your day begins at 08.30 with a kayak and safety equipment familiarisation and paddling instructions, this only takes a few minutes, followed by a leisurely paddle toward Bribie Island where we may circumnavigate some of the smaller islands, glide silently past flocks of roosting birds, drift over the sea grass beds, where fish and stingray can be seen. At approximately 10.30 we arrive at Lions Park to boil the billy for morning tea. Public toilet facility is located in the park. After a biscuit and cuppa, grab an apple and join the guide on a short nature walk across Bribie Island to emerge on a secluded ocean beach. Your guide will point out places of interest as you look across to Moreton Island in the distance. You may even see Manta Ray, Dolphin or Whale frolicking among the wave. You continue your journey along the shoreline and may visit the sand blow or navigation tower before you return to the mainland and the entrance to Bells Creek where lunch will be served at approximately 13.00 hours under the shady trees in the Park. The afternoon will be spent gliding silently along the banks of Bells Creek, where the scenery goes from Mangroves to open forest. Paddling in the shade of the overhanging branches, while your guide points out the nesting sights of the several species of birds or prey, and the numerous forest dwelling and waterbirds that live and visit the area. Your day will finish approximately 15.30 hours as you leave your kayak on the beach at Jensen Park before you are returned by vehicle at Lamerough Parade.'
