"I confess that I am a bit of a clean freak, so going to a water park would only heighten the alert mode I was already in. the only thing that kept me from walking everywhere in my thongs was that someone might take them and then I’d have to go the rest of the day without shoes. If you really have an issue with cleanliness, then this is not a place for you. I was barefoot most of the day, in 1 hour queues to go on 20 second rides. You might say, that is not worth it, but this is my type of theme park. My friend who enjoys the thrill rides did not find this place particularly fun".

Set in the theme park district, next to Dream World, Wet n’ Wild is a water theme park, which only has waterslides and pools. If you don’t like getting wet, it’s not for you.

Wet n Wild Rides

Mammoth
My favorite ride was Mammoth. There are two identical slides which are the same next to one another and the six person tube is best filled with the biggest and strongest people you can find. The problem with being with light people is that you don’t seem to go very fast. To go fast, you need to make everyone on the tube doing their bit. This means they must lean forward and go around the corners by pushing their momentum upwards. We went a few times and the best time was when we were in the tube with all adults.

Aqua Racer
Aqua Racer is like a sprint race. You lay on your front, on the special yoga mat going head first down a giant water slide. This is quite fun, but is short. With limited crowds, this would be fun to go on a few times.

Speed Coaster
On the Speed Coaster, you sit in pairs to go as fast as you can down the straight. The speed you go is measured on the uphill part, seeing how high you can go. Again, the heavier you are, the higher you will go.

Twister was also another enjoyable ride, in which you feel you are going very very fast and don’t know where you are going to come out the other end with a atomic wedge and water up your nose. Luckily, I held on to my bottoms and held my nose in anticipation. I hate it when water gets thrust up your nose.

Terror Canyon
The Terror Canyon Rides aren’t as terrifying as they say. If you don’t try really really hard, you won’t go very fast. When I was waiting in line for another ride, I could see that some of the kids were barely moving down the ride. They were so slow, that they could have sent SMS’s to their friends and got a response back. I guess the question is - when will we get water proof mobile phones?

Giant Wave Pool
The Giant Wave Pool is big. If there were less than 8,000 people at Wet n’ Wild that day, it wouldn’t have seemed that small, but there was enough room for everybody, just not enough room for flailing around. The pool is designed mostly for children, as three quarters of the pool is less than 1.5 meters deep, and the deepest part is quite far from the concrete “shore”.

Wet n’ Wild is one third cheaper than the other theme parks. It seems like people take it easy here than the other parks, probably because there are fewer attractions. Most groups dump their towels, and bags in one designated area, and then one person will stay behind to look after it. I saw a lot more people bring their own food to Wet n’ Wild, as it beats eating the bad food they sell for exorbitant prices. If you can, bring your own food. Drinks can be bought there, but healthy options are limited to $5 cups of fruit salad.

In less than 5 words: easy, relaxing, digestible, wet.
