Travel > Travel Guides > Tasmania > Tahune Eagle Glide Tahune Eagle Glide- by Bettina James The Tahune Eagle Glide is a flying fox ride that looks like a hang glider. The glider is hooked attached to an aerial cable, suspended above the forest canopy. To get on, you sit in the special backpack seat and the machine winches you to the top. You can actually disconnect one of the cables, so you can rotate 360 degrees, but for the kids, it’s best to keep them strapped in. The ride stops at the top for about 10 seconds before it comes back down, giving you ample time to take some pictures and soak in the view. The view is great from the top of the Eagle Glide, however it’s not much different to the Air Walk. And for $22 for two rides (you get to go up twice), it’s a little on the pricey side. It is a good fun activity for the kids, however for the thrill seeker; it’s a bit of a letdown.
