TravelAus is a small independent journal. There is no switchboard and no ticket desk. Write when you have a correction, a question about a published page, or a pitch that already understands the evidence bar.
Use the form on this page. It sends via FormSubmit to the editorial inbox. Do not attach booking requests; we cannot make them. Name the URL if you are writing about a specific guide.
We read mail on weekdays. We reply when a reply would help. If the form is unavailable, email the address printed beside it.
This site is not an emergency service. For park closures, marine conditions or severe weather, use the statutory authority and the Bureau of Meteorology.
What to include
A URL, a clear subject, and anything we would need to verify a correction. If you are pitching, say the region and the question the piece answers. If you are asking about a stay, understand that we cannot book it or inspect it.
Do not send passports, payment details or medical information. This is an editorial inbox.
Response time
Weekdays, in the order that helps readers of the public site. A correction to a live guide outranks a general compliment. A pitch that ignores the evidence bar may not receive a reply.
If you wrote in and the form showed success, the message left your browser. We do not send an automated second mail.
Other channels
There is no phone tree. There is no chat widget. Park agencies, police and weather services are not us — use them when the situation is operational rather than editorial.
Editorial versus operational
If a track is closed, that is operational — use the park service. If a sentence on our Daintree guide is wrong about the wet-season road, that is editorial — use this form. If you want a room on Hamilton Island, that is commercial — use an operator. Mixing those three in one email slows everyone down.
We are glad to receive photographs that illustrate a planning fact (flooded causeway, empty crater lake in dry season) if you say we may use them and they are yours. We are not glad to receive promotional image packs.
Privacy, briefly
The form collects name, email, topic and message so we can reply. Do not send other people’s information. We are not a drop-box for disputes with hotels.
Form details
The form uses FormSubmit’s AJAX endpoint so you do not leave the page. A honeypot field is there for bots. Required fields are name, email and message. Topic helps us sort. If you see a success note, stop sending duplicates.
We will never ask you for payment through this form. If a message pretending to be us does, it is not us.
After you press send
You should see a success or error note on this page. Success means FormSubmit accepted the JSON payload. Error means you should mail the printed address instead. Please do not test the form for sport; it rings a real inbox.
If your question is answered in the FAQ, we may reply with a URL. That is not rudeness. That is how a small desk stays a journal instead of a concierge.
Mail from agencies offering “content partnerships” will be treated as advertising. Mail from readers who walked a track we mis-described will be treated as gold. A single clear paragraph beats a press kit.
Scale, sources and stopping
This page is part of a small information architecture: home, destinations, when-to-go, stays, guides, FAQ, about, contact, write-for-us. Each of those URLs is meant to be finishable. If you have read this far, you already have enough to choose a climate and a radius. The next honest action is to open one child page or to close the laptop.
Public meteorology, public land managers and ordinary maps remain the sources of record. We join them in sentences. We do not replace them. When a joined sentence is wrong, the contact form exists.
Independence, again: TravelAus.com.au is not a tourism board, park authority, airline or booking desk. Trademarks belong to their owners. Historical listings from earlier versions of this domain are unverified. There are no invented prices, rankings, events or quotes on this page.
If you are writing from a park desk, a council or a weather office with a factual correction, thank you — those emails are why a journal can stay smaller than a call centre and why a heritage domain can still be trusted. If you are writing because a form on another site bounced, include the URL you were on. If you are writing to ask whether we sell rooms, the answer is still no, and the stays hub explains how to compare a listing without us in the middle.
